Vice District Governor - Dave O Brien
Wherever the need in District 33N - "We Serve!"
November, and one-third of our Lions year has passed. Clubs in the District have been and will continue to be hard at work raising funds and completing service projects.
This is also the time of year when we start to think of the holidays. With the holidays, people also begin looking at donations, both from a charitable viewpoint and for tax purposes. As each of us does this, let us remember our own LIONS charities. While other charities that traditionally fund-raise at this time of year are worthy, our own Lions Club charities are just as worthy and deserve our personal support. As Lions, we start with Toys for Tots at the 2nd Advisory Meeting. We Lions have done such a good job with this that we are one of the leading contributors to this cause on the North Shore.
Let us also remember our Lions charities:
At our District level we have or Eye-Mobile and the Visual Aids Foundation; our highly successful state charity is the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Foundation; and, internationally we have the Lions Club International Foundation. Donations to any of these extremely worthy causes are deductible for income tax purposes.
Please, think of LIONS charities when planning year end donations and urge your family and friends to do the same.
