Vice District Governor - Dave O Brien
Wherever the need in District 33N - "We Serve!"
June has arrived and the Lions year winds down quickly at this point. We have one more month to get those important donations and service projects wound up. Please remember that you still have more than three weeks to make those final contributions to our charities, especially Mass. Lions Eye Research.
We should all be happy with the year provided by our Governor, Randy. His year has truly embraced both the International President’s theme of Everyday Heroes and his own theme of Proud of the Past, Planning for the Future.
DG Randy rewarded those who lived up to the hero theme, and there were many, with special recognition of outstanding deeds and new initiatives. He honored our past with special recognition of the longest serving Lion in each club. He showed his planning for the future by stressing membership growth and laying the groundwork for a future visit by the GMT.
Beyond all that he offered his service unselfishly to any club who needed a helping hand. Randy truly showed his appreciation for the District and fellow Lions.
Let us all join together to thank Randy at his upcoming testimonial and show our appreciation for his work in furthering Lionism in District 33N.
Let us give special thanks to our two incoming Vice-Governors for their willingness to step forward to accept greater leadership roles within the District. First Vice-Governor Jeannine showed her abilities leading the Visual Aids Foundation to another successful year, highlighted by the great production on the work of the VAF. Second Vice-Governor Jane continued her fine work as Zone Chair, VAF board member and club secretary throughout a trying year. Her efforts were rewarded with the designation as Lion of the Year in District 33N. Both will provide great future leadership for the District.
Finally, a special thank you goes to all the clubs in the District for the special hospitality and friendship displayed to any visitors to their meetings.
YIL
Dave
