Compete
Recycle
Restore Sight
The Lions of District 33N
are encouraged to continue your remarkable efforts to recycle
eyeglasses in 2008-2009. Your efforts have resulted in many thousands
of pairs of used eyeglasses being recycled. Collection boxes are
available from Lions Clubs International to be set up throughout your
community.
Your local or regional
postal facility may have used mail boxes which can be obtained free for
placement in public locations. These used mailboxes can be repainted
and recycling decals can be applied.
The District Eyeglass Recycling contest will be continued this year.
Awards will be given for the most eyeglasses collected by a small club,
a medium club, a large club and an extra large club. A separate award
will be given to the club with the highest per-capita number of
eyeglasses recycled.
Your efforts will help to
restore sight for thousands of people who can’t afford eyeglasses and
who might never see without your commitment.
RECYCLED EYEGLASSES?

sent to the regional eyeglass
recycling center in New Jersey. But it is a lot easier to
simply drop them off at your local LensCrafters Store.
Lions and LensCrafters work as partners
in this recycling
effort and LensCrafters stores are happy to take your
glasses for recycling. Don’t
forget to report your quantities.
